Welshpool Jetty was a narrow gauge branch line in Australia, opened in 1905, with a total length of just over 5 km. The tramway ran to the fishing jetty, the third longest wooden jetty still standing in Australia. It connected Welshpool station to Port Welshpool, and was operated as a horse-drawn tramway. The current jetty was reconstructed prior to World War II to facilitate the berthing of Naval ships during war time reverting to a commercial shipping port after the war until 2003 when a fire on the pier in June resulted in Worksafe issuing a closure notice. There is a local campaign to re-furbish and re-open the jetty for tourism, along with a plan for Victoria's first underwater observatory. ==See also==
